Lauren has loved orange + chocolate since childhood. Long before Caldera, there were Orange Milano cookies — hoarded, scarfed, savored, and enjoyed with the kind of devotion that turns a flavor into a lifelong favorite.

Alpenglow is our celebration of that universally beloved orange + chocolate pairing, elevated with simple sophistication and a little bit of edge.

We start with our 72% dark chocolate, topped with a house-made blend of ripe citrus – navel oranges, blood oranges, mandarins, and lemon – candied from scratch right here in the factory. We slice the fresh fruit by hand, candy it slowly on the stovetop, then dry it ever so slightly. The citrus stays vibrant and concentrated, for the perfect blend of sweetness, acidity, and chewy texture against the chocolate's smooth melt.

Just before pouring the bars, we finish with fresh-cracked pink peppercorn, which brings floral fragrance and gentle spice without much heat. It trims the sweetness of the candied citrus and keeps everything bright and balanced.

And the name? Alpenglow is one of those fleeting mountain miracles at the dawn and dusk, the edges of the day – peaks catching fire in pink and gold while the valleys fall into shadow. The contrast is what makes it beautiful. That same contrast sits at the heart of this bar: deep cacao, luminous citrus, and a blush of peppercorn warmth.
